Abstract: The aim of this paper was to explore the relationship between energy metabolism and the meridian phenomenon. The manner of change of oxygen partial pressure in acupoints and no-acupoints of the urinary bladder meridian of goats was observed with a needle-type tissue oxygen tension sensor after the acupuncture effect was blocked by Ca complexation with ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA)-Na . The results showed that: (1) the concentration of calcium ion in urinary bladder meridian acupoints was higher than that in no-acupoints ( <0.01 or <0.05); (2) the tissue oxygen tension in urinary bladder meridian acupoints was higher than that in no-acupoints ( <0.01); (3) the oxygen partial pressure in acupoints decreased significantly after injection with EDTA-Na , compared with injection of either normal sodium or nothing ( <0.01); (4) the oxygen partial pressure in acupoints was higher than that in no-acupoints after EDTA-Na injection ( <0.01). Acupuncture could reduce oxygen partial pressure in acupoints by regulating microcirculation and increasing metabolic levels.

Abstract: Infections with multidrug-resistant (MRD) Gram-negative bacteria, such as MRD Escherichia coli (E. coli), remain a challenge due to the lack of safe antibiotics and high fatality rates under anti-infection therapies. This work presents a form of biomimetic intelligent catalysis inspired by the selective biocatalytic property of macrophages, consisting of an intelligent controlling center (a living macrophage, MΦ) and a Fenton reaction catalyst (Fe3O4@poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles) for killing MDR E. coli without harming normal cells. The MΦ–Fe3O4@PLGA particles (i.e., the intelligent catalysis particles) exhibit selective biocatalysis activity toward MDR E. coli by producing H2O2 and lipid droplets (LDs). This process activates the lipid metabolism and glycan biosynthesis and metabolism pathways based on the result of RNA sequencing data analysis. The H2O2 further reacts with Fe3O4@PLGA to form highly toxic hydroxyl radicals (•OH), while the LDs contain antimicrobial peptides and can target MDR E. coli. The highly toxic •OH and antimicrobial peptides are shown to combat with MDR E. coli, such that the antibacterial efficiency of the MΦ–Fe3O4@PLGA particles against MDR E. coli is 99.29% ± 0.31% in vitro. More importantly, after several passages, the intelligent catalysis function of the MΦ–Fe3O4@PLGA particles is well maintained. Hence, the concept of biomimetic intelligent catalysts displays potential for treating diseases other than infections.

System management and typical fault analysis of large diameter slurry shield

Li Xiaogang,Li Shengli,Niu Xuechen

Strategic Study of CAE 2010, Volume 12, Issue 12,   Pages 51-55

Abstract:

Based on the typical fault analysis of large diameter slurry shield of Beijing underground diameter, the corresponding treatment and preventive measures were proposed, these faults including cutter stuck, shield tail leakage, tail brush damage, segment erector failure, etc. Meanwhile, the shield was maintained in advance with predictability through the oil sample analysis, and the intact rate was guaranteed objectively. In the construction process, the "zero inventory"  and a set of scientific equipment management methods like factory management were introduced, making the intact rate of shield machine grow from 60 % to 85 % and even higher, so the normal tunneling progress was ensured.

New Applications of Fluid Jet Technology in Oilfield Development

Wu Taiping,Li Shengli

Strategic Study of CAE 2004, Volume 6, Issue 10,   Pages 75-78

Abstract:

Fluid jet principle is used in many processes. This paper introduces four patented new technologies developed based on fluid jet principle for oil field development. They are the methods of removal of formation plug, spent-acid flow-back by pressure decrease on one-trip, wellhead adding water, and removal of sludge from settling tank. The applications in more than 200 wells (or sets) show that these fluid jet new technologies have great prospects in oilfield production with their simplicity of technological process, convenient operation and low cost. This-paper describes mainly the technical principles, field utilization results and features of them.

Abstract: Genome-wide association studies with an Illumina Bovine50K chip have detected 105 SNPs associated with one or multiple milk production traits in the Chinese Holstein population. Of these, 38 significant SNPs detected with high confidence by both L1-TDT and MMRA methods were selected to further mine potential key genes affecting milk yield and milk composition. By blasting the flanking sequences of these 38 SNPs with the bovine genome sequence combined with comparative genomics analysis, 26 genes were found to contain or be near to such SNPs. Among them, the gene is merely 87 bp away from the significant SNP, Hapmap30383-BTC-005848. Hence, we report herein genotype-phenotype associations to further validate the genetic effects of the gene. By pooled DNA sequencing of 14 unrelated Holstein sires, a total of 18 with seven novel SNPs were identified. Among them, nine SNPs were in the 5′ regulatory region, one in exon 6 and the other in the 3′ UTR and 3′ regulatory region. A total of nine of these identified SNPs were successfully genotyped and analyzed by mass spectrometry for association with five milk production traits in an independent resource population. The results showed that these SNPs were statistically significant for more than two traits [ <(0.0001-0.0267)]. In addition, mRNA expression analyses revealed that was ubiquitous in eight different tissues, with a relatively higher expression level in the mammary gland than in other tissues. These findings, therefore, provide strong evidence for association of variants with milk yield and milk composition traits and may be applied in Chinese Holstein breeding programs.

Influence of pavement on fatigue stress range of orthotropic steel deck

Strategic Study of CAE 2010, Volume 12, Issue 7,   Pages 39-42

Abstract:

Because the thickness of orthotropic steel deck is thin and the stiffness of pavement is relatively large, the interaction between orthotropic steel deck and pavement on it can not be neglected in the fatigue design of orthotropic steel deck. Based on the assumption of non-slip between pavement and the bridge deck, influences of elastic modulus and thickness of pavement on the fatigue stress range of four typical details in orthotropic steel deck were discussed according to FEM(finite element method) analysis results.

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 10,   Pages 49-54

Abstract:

De-interlace is to convert interlaced images to progressive ones.  In this paper,  a de-interlacing algorithm based on spatio-temporal weight and edge direction is presented.  It consists of motion detection,  low-angle edge detection,  and spatio-temporal weight adaptive interpolation.  It uses total 4 fields information captured in field storage to detect the presence of motion.  And it detects low-angle edge by an adaptive searching radius in which the 6°edge is obtained.  The proposed method using spatio-temporal adaptive interpolation can obtain quite good display quality and satisfies real-time process of HDTV sequences.

Strategic Study of CAE 2009, Volume 11, Issue 11,   Pages 82-87

Abstract:

In this paper, the 2-D analytical models for the surface electrical field and temperature distributions of PB-PSOI devices in terms of Poisson's solution and thermal diffusion solution have been suggested. The analytical results of the presented models show a good agreement with the numerical simulation results obtained by Medici. The dependences of the surface electrical field and temperature on the thickness and the length of the buried oxide have also been discussed in detail. Finally, the methods to optimize the thickness and the length of the buried oxide have been proposed to achieve the high performance of PB-PSOI devices.

Strategic Study of CAE 2017, Volume 19, Issue 2,   Pages 62-67 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2017.02.010

Abstract:

Although the current drug service system can meet the fundamental needs of healthcare in China, outstanding issues exist in all service sectors, including research and development, manufacturing, marketing, and clinical use. Through a literature search, data queries, specialist consultation, and a panel discussion, this study investigated the current status of the drug service system and identified the main problems. We propose an idea for constructing a new national drug service system to provide drugs to the Chinese people that are of high quality, have a reliable therapeutic effect, come at a reasonable price, and exhibit good medical compliance, thus ensuring the efficacy, safety, availability, and reasonability of drugs for clinical use, as well as promoting a structural transformation of the pharmaceutical industry that will enable China to finally transition from a big country into a great power in the global pharmaceutical industry.

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 2,   Pages 72-78

Abstract:

A high accurate steady-state physical model for high-voltage VDMOS is proposed in the paper. In the model, a more proper assumption result in obtaining both the electric field and the voltage in the double diffused channel region by analytical method; and after studying physical characteristic of VDMOS in detail, a differential equation concerning the electric field of the drift region is obtained, moreover, the analytical solution of this differential equation is given for the whole drift region, then the voltage drop of the drift region is obtained. The result shows that the calculation stability in the region adjacent to saturation of the drain current are improved in the paper´s model, and furthermore, the calculation prec ision of the paper´s model is high. Especially in the condition of high gate vol tage and high drain voltage it is improved to a great extent.

Abstract:

Horizontal preframe method was adopted when steel stiffening girders of Xihoumen Bridge were fabricated, i.e. the steel box girders were pre-assembled in horizontal direction. To insure the vertical line figure of girder segments is right, relevant parameters should be calculated and stimulated first according to design data, then every part of the steel box should be adjusted in preframe process, and finally the linear accuracy should be checked.
