Materials Genome Engineering (MGE) is a cutting-edge technology in the field of material science and engineering. The digits and symbols of elements in the cover image reflect the fact that MGE is data-driven mode of materials R&D. A representative MGE database is symbolized by a golden sandglass with two discrete parts. The upper space full of microscale particles are explored and identified based on high-throughput experiments. The particles with a new structure and promising features flow into the lower part after computational screening as indicated by the shinning digits surrounding the neck of the golden sandglass. Apart from traditional databases, the concept of MGE is characterized by solid support from high-throughput experimental work, high-throughput computational modelling, and big-data driven auto-processing and machining learning capability.
