Strategic Study of CAE 2019, Volume 21, Issue 3,   Pages 108-113 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2019.03.006

Abstract:

A new round of technological and industrial changes has accelerated technological integration. Intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) have provided consumers with convenient use, rich application contents, and a safe driving environment. Meanwhile, multiple risks are also brought to information security by intelligentization and networking. In recent years, hacker attacks frequently occur, and information security not only affects driving safety and user data safety, but also threatens national security when being damaged. So, information security issues have attracted great attention from governments all over the world. Major developed countries and regions, such as the United States, Europe, and Japan, are taking active actions to safeguard information security. In this context, China should promote the development and management of the information security of the ICVs, take active measures, make rational planning, and make every effort to ensure the information security of ICVs, thus to promote the steady development of the ICVs.

Liu Sanjiang, Chen Zuzhi, Shi Kun, Li Guanghai

Strategic Study of CAE 2020, Volume 22, Issue 6,   Pages 143-150 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2020.06.019

Abstract:

Special equipment are important for the economic and societal development of a country. Implementing intelligent manufacturing in the special equipment field could facilitate the transformation and upgrades of the special equipment manufacturing industry of China, and it is also an essential component for the China Manufacturing 2025 plan. In this article, we first analyze the characteristics and current status of special equipment in China and summarize the demand for intelligent manufacturing of special equipment. Then we propose some measures and development ideas for promoting the special equipment manufacturing industry from big to strong. We propose that the guiding ideology should be parallel development; the Industry 2.0, Industry 3.0, and Industry 4.0 should be promoted in parallel in the special equipment industry. The development of intelligent manufacturing of special equipment should focus on product traceability, intelligent quality management, and real-time monitoring of dynamic risks. Based on this, intelligent connection is introduced as a technology path for developing intelligent manufacturing of special equipment, and the concept of intelligent connection is further analyzed. Furthermore, the key tasks for future development are building an intelligent connection network of special equipment and developing intelligent applications.

Design and experimental validation of event-triggered multi-vehicle cooperation in conflicting scenarios Research Article

Zhanyi HU, Yingjun QIAO, Xingyu LI, Jin HUANG, Yifan JIA, Zhihua ZHONG

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 11,   Pages 1700-1713 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2100504

Abstract:

Platoon control is widely studied for coordinating (CAVs) on highways due to its potential for improving traffic throughput and road safety. Inspired by platoon control, the cooperation of multiple CAVs in can be greatly simplified by virtual platooning. Vehicle-to-vehicle communication is an essential ingredient in virtual platoon systems. Massive data transmission with limited communication resPreprintources incurs inevitable imperfections such as transmission delay and dropped packets. As a result, unnecessary transmission needs to be avoided to establish a reliable wireless network. To this end, an event-triggered robust control method is developed to reduce the use of communication resources while ensuring the stability of the virtual platoon system with time-varying uncertainty. The uniform boundedness, uniform ultimate boundedness, and string stability of the closed-loop system are analytically proved. As for the triggering condition, the uncertainty of the boundary information is considered, so that the threshold can be estimated more reasonably. Simulation and experimental results verify that the proposed method can greatly reduce data transmission while creating multi-vehicle cooperation. The threshold affects the tracking ability and communication burden, and hence an optimization framework for choosing the threshold is worth exploring in future research.

Strategic Study of CAE 2021, Volume 23, Issue 3,   Pages 153-162 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2021.03.019

Abstract:

The new-generation smart vehicles are intelligent network terminals that integrate smart vehicle, smart transportation, smart city, and smart energy (i.e., 4S integration). They move flexibly to connect the flow of people, materials, energy, and information of a city, and have more strategic values than traditional vehicles. This study aims to clarify the significance in developing the newgeneration smart vehicles based on 4S integration, determine the technology path for the innovative development of the new-generation smart vehicle industry, and establish a novel technology system by summarizing relevant key technologies. The new-generation smart vehicles based on 4S integration is an upgrade of smart vehicles in terms of value, function, and technology. China should select a smart vehicle technology path considering vehicle infrastructure cooperation to acquire the leadership in scientific and technological innovation. To establish the technology system of the new-generation smart vehicles based on 4S integration, the automation and connectivity levels of vehicles should be coordinated simultaneously, and common basic technologies such as big data, cloud computing, information, and communications should be promoted, together with the core key technologies related to vehicles, roads, and cloud. Furthermore, we propose suggestions from the aspects of top-level design, industrial integration, technological innovation, and practical implementation, hoping to provide theoretical references for long-term development of China’s smart vehicle industry.

Abstract:

In-depth exploration of the goals and common challenges in the development of integrated transportation technology is crucial for promoting the continuous progress of integrated transportation in China. This study reviews the current state of transportation engineering and technology in China from five dimensions: road, rail, water, aviation, and urban-integrated transportations. The future trends of integrated transportation engineering and technology in China are summarized, characterized by networking of transportation systems, shared mobility, intelligent traffic control, coordinated transportation operation, and threedimensional transportation layout. The study suggests that comprehensive transportation engineering and technology breakthroughs can be achieved through the construction of an integrated transportation system, establishment of a digital infrastructure platform for transportation, development of comprehensive transportation command and control centers, and implementation of related services. The following strategic measures are recommended: constructing a new integrated transportation system, fostering new models of transportation and mobility, establishing an integrated transportation network, building multi-modal transportation hubs, and implementing major projects in intelligent and connected three-dimensional transportation. These initiatives will effectively drive the high-quality development of integrated transportation in China.

Intelligent computing budget allocation for on-road trajectory planning based on candidate curves Project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 61273039) Article

Xiao-xin FU,Yong-heng JIANG,De-xian HUANG,Jing-chun WANG,Kai-sheng HUANG

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 6,   Pages 553-565 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500269

Abstract: In this paper, on-road trajectory planning is solved by introducing intelligent computing budget allocation (ICBA) into a candidate-curve-based planning algorithm, namely, ordinal-optimization-based differential evolution (OODE). The proposed algorithm is named IOODE with ‘I’ representing ICBA. OODE plans the trajectory in two parts: trajectory curve and acceleration profile. The best trajectory curve is picked from a set of candidate curves, where each curve is evaluated by solving a subproblem with the differential evolution (DE) algorithm. The more iterations DE performs, the more accurate the evaluation will become. Thus, we intelligently allocate the iterations to individual curves so as to reduce the total number of iterations performed. Meanwhile, the selected best curve is ensured to be one of the truly top curves with a high enough probability. Simulation results show that IOODE is 20% faster than OODE while maintaining the same performance in terms of solution quality. The computing budget allocation framework presented in this paper can also be used to enhance the efficiency of other candidate-curve-based planning methods.
